It’s all started in 1976, when Basildon, an enthusiastic, Basildon, Vince Clarke and Andrew Fletcher decided to form a band. Initially the formed a band and named it "No Romance In China." Unfortunately, this band couldn't live for a long time and by the 1979 Clarke went on to form another band "French Look." Besides Clarke, this new band featured guitarist/keyboardist Martin Gore. Soon the band added Fletcher to complete the line up.
Finally, he joined the band and thus born "Depeche Mode." Then the group stormed the local club scene of London. In 1980, Depeche Mode issued their debut album, "Photographic." Soon, they signed a deal with Mute Records, and went on to issue "Dreaming of Me" in early 1981. Though, their earlier two releases couldn't garner much attention but their third album "Just Can't Get Enough," hit many popular charts and became a Top Ten U.K. hit. In 1981, the band issued "Speak and Spell" which proved a reasonable success.
With every release, the band was scaling the new heights of fame but unfortunately principal songwriter Clarke left the band to form Yazoo. Now, it looked as if music loves wouldn’t see the band again. Then, Gore became their songwriter and soon the band added keyboardist Alan Wilder. With this new line up the band issued "Construction Time Again" in 1983.
This was followed by "Some Great Reward" in 1984. Their next album, "Black Celebration" earned some very poor reviews and also caught in a sick controversy but finally everything was sorted out. Since the formation of Depeche Mode, the band-members have seen many alternative music boom but they firmly stick together to their own genre and continued to scale new heights of fame. Their other major hit albums include: "People Are People" in 1991, "Ultra" in 1997, “I Feel Loved" in 2001 and "Precious" in 2005. The band has been giving smash hits for the last two decades.
