David Bazan, a singer and lyricist by profession, was born in 1976 in Washington. He has served as the lead singer in bands like Headphones and Pedro the lion. He started his musical career in 1995. He was the drummer in the Damien Jurado’s band The Guilty in 1990, who was David’s classmate. These bands have been dissolved now but David continues to compose songs as he tours alone. He has been actively involved with bands from Seattle. He had been a drummer in an album by Unwed Sailor’s Firecracker in 1998. He had featured in Rosie Thomas’s These Friends of Mine. He was also the drummer and the back-up vocalist in Seldom in 2002. Two tears later he played for Starflyer 59.

In 1994 he had released a CD containing six Demo tracks that were well received by the audience. In 2006 David had participated in a tour held across US and Europe and was accompanied by Scott Danbom of Centro-matic, Mark Eitzel of American music club, Vic Chesnutt and Will Johnson of Centro-matic. David’s debut album was Fewer Moving Parts which was released in mid 2006. He had composd this album during his tour with The Undertow Orchestra. Lately he has organized a tour where he has been performing alone. His performances have guest appearances by Jonathan Rice and Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard. He has featured in the song “Let Down” in Stereogun’s album “OK X”. This was recorded to pay homage the album OK computer by Radiohead. He has just released his next album called “David Bazan’s Black Cloud” with the accompaniment if a new band. Throughout his career he has recorded under various labels Like Barsuk Records, Suicide Squeeze, Tooth and Nail and Jade Tree. This album has been composed entirely by him and he will have some musician friends who will accompany him in his stage performers. During a talk show aired in Minnesota Public radio he had performed the song “Please, baby, Please” from his latest album “David Bazan’s Black Cloud”. In the tour that he held in 2006 September he had dished out hits like “Weeds In The Wheat”, “American Flags”, “Harmless Sparks”, “Please baby Please”, “Curse your Braches”, “Broken Arm” and “The Stitches”. The song that he had performed for Leonard Cohen called “Hallelujah” has also been included in this album.
