There are numerous cover bands around. Many of these bands are Grateful Dead cover bands. Their music includes the music of Bobby Weir et al and Jerry Garcia, with other popular cover songs and some good originals mixed in. But Dark Star Orchestra (DSO) is a totally different breed of ‘Dead’ band. They just recreate the Grateful Dead. DSO does this not with some hippie wigs and fake beards but they do this through the live music. DSO plays the articulated set list song for song with the same arrangements and resources used by the so called Dead members of that great period of music. They have a reasonable variety of music to make audiences thrill. The band kept show date as secret right up till the performance.

DSO was formed in November, 1997 with the members of Citrus and Deadbeats and Uncle John's Band. Dark Star Orchestra is a Grateful Dead cover band with a unique twist. The band covers an entire Dead concert fully right down to the Jerry lick and last Donna wail. Their popular Bobby sounds surprisingly same like Bobby and so on. The similarities among the band members are quite impressive. You can catch these guys, just grab your tickets from your on-line ticket vendor and be there.
