Collin Raye’s members were friends in middle school. The group used to practice at the drummer's garage. Collin Raye started playing at Beach, a local bar. The lead singer was encouraged to play by his grandfather.

Collin Raye were convinced their hard work had paid off after their first single rose to the top of the charts. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started. Collin Raye met with a local DJ from Z102.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The group members quit their other jobs to focus on their album.
Collin Raye realized they had finally made it as soon as Martha Kostner started the first fan club for the band in 1993. Initially the group only had a few fans from Concord in the club, but after playing nation wide the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Collin Raye hope to team up with other artists during the tour. The band just completed their latest record, and they are thinking of what is to come next. The new release from Collin Raye has taken the band in a brand new direction, going back to basics.
