With this super hit track Christopher shot to fame. Christopher was born on 3rd May, 1951 in San Antonio, TX. Christopher first joined the Austin-based local cover band "Flash" before receiving a good offer from the Warner Bros. In 1978, he issued his self-titled debut LP, followed by his lead single "Ride Like the Wind," after two years. Eventually, after its release the album climbed the number two spot. This was followed by the immense success of his second highly anticipated single "Sailing" made him an overnight superstar. The famous theme track "Best That You Can Do," was co-written with Carole Bayer Sager, Burt Bacharach and Peter Allen. His next much-anticipated sophomore effort and hugely hyped "Another Page" released in 1983. The album received the Top Ten entry but couldn't repeat his earlier successes. Surprisingly; Cross never hit the Top 40 again. His next album "Every Turn of the World" was released in 1985 and received reasonable success. His next effort "Back of My Mind" was released in 1988 and completely failed to gain any position. For the next five years, Cross couldn't release any album. After this slump, he hit the music stores with "Rendezvous" on BMG records. This album was followed by the release of "Window" in 1995. In 1998, Cross signed to CMC International for his next album "Walking in Avalon," which was a two-disc effort split between live recordings of his past hits and new studio material.
