For 39 years Christmas Pops has been a holiday tradition. While in Europe during the war, Owen Hemmingway saw the performance that would inspire the show.
The show became an annual hit and people from all over the state would come to check out the show. The performance had half the dancers and singers compared to the performance today. As Christmas Pops became older, the sets grew more elaborate, the audience grew larger and demanded a bigger venue, and the performers became professionals.
