The members of Chilliwack grew up together. The guitarist first found his love of music by listening to his uncle's collection of records. Chilliwack began performing at Guru, a college club. The group was influenced by Robert Johnson.

Chilliwackwere tentative after releasing their first release, but were more than relieved when they started hearing their music on the radio. The group played for little to no money at first and was just happy to be given a chance to be heard.
Chilliwack realized that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true as soon as the group’s first fan club was started in 1980 by Mary Fraiser. After the band’s first North American tour, the fan club grew from the couple dozen fans who heard the band play around Urbana to the thousands who heard them play from California to New York.
The newest record is 's first album since the band broke up two years ago. The band has just finished their new release, but they are planning the next release already. After this past non-stop year the members of Chilliwack will spend some time apart to rest.
