In 2004, Cherryholmes presented their third CD, “Bluegrass Vagabonds” produced by Darrin Vincent. This recording has been a tremendous bluegrass achievement. They have continued to obtain many industry nominations and awards, as well as SPBGMA’s “Entertaining Group of the Year, 2005" and “Banjo Player of the Year, 2005" (Cia Leigh). They are presently associated with Skaggs Family Records with a CD produced by Ben Isaacs of the Isaacs Family. This outstanding recording was made public in September, 2005.

The band, Cherryholmes, is christened after its members - Jere and Sandy Lee Cherryholmes and the couple's four kids, B.J., Skip, Molly Kate and Cia Leigh. Their initial album for Skaggs Family Records made its debut at No. 3 on SoundScan's bluegrass album chart.

Father and mother are expert mandolin and standup bass players. Cia was a talented flat-picker at age 15, but has been performing with the banjo since the last six years. B.J. deals with fiddle and Skip is the guitarist. Molly Kate started performing with the fiddle at age 6. At 11, the IBMA chose her for fiddler of the year.
Jere, a Navy Seal expert, and Sandy Lee, a previous accounting assistant, control and book the band with Sandy Lee taking on the additional task of home schooling. They divide the task of driving the bus to as many as 300 shows a year, between themselves.
Although Sandy Lee does not possess any booking background her accounting knowledge assists her.

The Cherryholmes family performs to the extent of three to five times a week in the summer period, and Sandy Lee has to arrange her booking tasks around being a schoolmarm.
Ridge Top, Tenn., is the business address of the band and the band has a permanent lawful address in Taylor, Ariz., but the members don't possess a home.

They are so habituated with residing in the bus that they consider it their place to stay according to Sandy Lee who further reveals that a number of times a venue will desire to discuss a proposal with hotel rooms and during such times they tell them that they don't require hotel accommodation, since they are already in their home.
There's no fax machine or Internet link on the traveling bus, hence Sandy Lee dispatches the contracts with a return envelope. She'll collect the contracts when in Ridge Top, or have acquaintances gather them up.

Sandy Lee devotes a lot of time examining the Streets & Maps program and according to her whenever they go for a concert, they gather diverse artists' personal program so that they can locate the concert halls and the best places to perform.
