Cal Ecker started performing at the college dive bar Husk. The guitarist was encouraged to play by his middle school teacher. The guitarist wanted to start a band since he was in grade school. Cal Ecker’s members grew up together. Aerosmith heavily influenced the early work of the band.

Cal Ecker's new record is a refinement of their established sound. The group has just finished their latest release, and they are already planning the next release. Cal Ecker will take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to work on other projects.
Cal Ecker was offered a record contract after putting on a show at at Beach, a local dive bar. The band plays almost every night of the week as the they tour Europe.
Cal Ecker realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act as soon as Mandy Jean started a fan club for the band in 1986. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Louisville, but the creation the band’s website by Betty Van Gundy, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.
Cal Ecker seamlessly blends the songs from the past project with tracks from their newest record. The band loves playing in Biloxi because they played their first sold out show there.
