Cactus began playing together while they were in middle school. The band used to sell their records out of their van at local shows. Cactus started singing at Cafeteria, a local club. The bassist discovered his love of music while listening to his mother's record collection.

The newest album is 's first record since the band broke up ten years ago. The group just finished their newest project, and they are thinking of what is to come next. Members of Cactus see this tour as a chance to expose a whole new group of fans to their music.
Cactus talked to a local DJ from X90.5 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after Cactus was signed. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. The group really enjoys performing and is playing almost nightly for fans.
Cactus realized that they could really have a career in music as soon as the group’s first fan club was started by Kathleen Moran in 1983. The club started out in Dallas with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
