Brooks and Dunn are the country duo that has been dominating the country charts since 1990. The duo is comprised of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn. The two had careers before performing together, working as somewhat successful singer-songwriters in the 1980s. it was as Brooks and Dunn that they would shoot up the charts with every release and sell out tours with concert tickets throughout North America.

About Brooks & Dunn
Kix Brooks (born May 12, 1955 in Shreveport, LA) and Ronnie Dunn (born June 1, 1953 in Coleman, TX) met through Tom DuBois from Arista Records and had formed the duo by 1990 at DuBois’ request. The two released their first album on August 13, 1991. The album peaked at number at number three on the U.S. country charts, number five on the Canadian country charts, and number 10 on the overall U.S. charts. Brand New Man ended up going platinum six times in the U.S. and three times in Canada.
Over the next 18 years Brooks and Dunn released nine more albums, including seven more platinum albums and a gold album. The two have been almost annual winners at the Academy of Country Music Awards as the Top Vocal Duo and the Country Music Association as the Vocal Duo of the Year.
The group seems to have run its course and Brooks and Dunn are set to part ways after this next tour, called The Last Rodeo Tour. The two have enjoyed their two decades together, but are ready to get back to the solo careers they left behind back in the 1980s.
Brooks & Dunn says they're done. The best-selling country duo posted a message on its Web site saying they've agreed to "call it a day" after 20 years of making music together. Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn thanked their fans and said it was "just time" to part. Brooks & Dunn will release a greatest hits album on Sept. 8 and tour one last time in 2010.
