About Blackmail
Blackmail’s first release climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began. After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Blackmail was signed to a record deal. The members of the group all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Blackmail accepted they had finally made it after the group’s first fan club was started in 1981 by Carol Smith. After playing from California to New York, the group’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Cleveland to thousands in every city throughout the country.
After this last busy year the members of Blackmail will spend some time apart to work on individual projects. The band just completed their most current record, but they are already thinking of their next move. The most current record is 's first record since the band broke up nine years ago.
