About Ben Kweller
Born in San Francisco, CA on June 16th 1981 Ben spent his early childhood in Greenville, TX. He was a music addict right from his early days. He learnt to play the drums from his father when he was 7 and composed his first song on piano when he was 9. He got his red fender Stratocaster guitar made in Mexico on his 11th birthday. After that there was no looking back. After learning to play guitar he formed bands mirage, fox glove and digitalis. As a teenager he formed the group radish along with John Kent. Both of them left high school to pursue a musical career. They played in hotels, on floors and many more places. The group radish made four albums- hello, restraining bolt, dizzy and discount fireworks.
When he was 19, Ben moved to New York, and living in a small apartment with his girlfriend Liz, composed and recorded songs on his computer. These songs he compiled into an album called freak out…its Ben Kweller. It was his officially first solo album. And since then there has been no looking back. There have been numerous songs, associations with some all time musical heroes and astounding number of fans since then.
