B.E. Taylor was the lead singer of the successful pop rock band B.E Taylor Group, and is presently a solo artist. He has recorded 5 albums, and has a huge fan base in the adult contemporary market. B.E. Taylor was born William Edward Taylor in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. B.E.'s parents, Bill and Betty Taylor, had an inkling that their son would one day become a famous singer. Tragedy struck the family when at the young age of 11, B.E. was diagnosed having a serious kidney disease, Nephritis - "Bright's Disease. Subsequently the young boy had to be hospitalized and after that he was confined to home care for over a year. During these months of illness music and books became his constant companions. His parents gifted him a guitar to pass his time and there was no looking back. After successfully winning the battle against the disease, he re- joined school. He had become passionate about music and he became a part of various high school bands that played at dances, weddings, and local taverns. He along with four like minded musicians formed the band B.E. Taylor Group.
He came into the national limelight as the lead singer of the B.E. Taylor Group. He has recorded three highly successful albums within the span of six years, and additionally wrote many regional top ten hits and two Billboard Top 100 Hits with his release of "Karen" on Epic Records and "Vitamin l" on MCA records.
He is the writer, performer, producer, music director of the award winning cable TV show, LightMusic. The show went on to win the award for BEST Contemporary Christian/Mainstream Video Show for three consecutive year starting from1993. He was also a part of shows like Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Old Navy, Cleveland Indians, etc. He had released B.E. Taylor Christmas CD which had become a roaring success and after that he performed a "live" Christmas Concert. Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh, PA; The West Virginia University Creative Arts Center, Morgantown, WV; The Cathedral Auditorium, New Castle, PA; The Capitol Music Hall, (2 nights) in Wheeling, WV; The Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, WV, and The Lamb's Theater, New York City are some of the few well known venues where the concert was performed. In 2000 he came out with B.E. Taylor Christmas 2, which again became an instant hit. B.E. is associated with charitable organizations like United Way, Easter Seals Telethon, the March of Dimes, Toys for Tots, Bundle Up, YWCA, Early Learning Disabilities Institute, Children's Hospital, Tickets for Kids, etc.
