About Aventura
Loosely referred to as the first Bachata boy band, Aventura are much more than just a bunch of good looking guys who can sing. They band has worked hard at creating their sound of new wave bachata and bringing to the world. Bachata is a popular form of traditional music that hails from the Dominican Republic. Its audiences are generally viewed as being conservative and rather narrow-minded when it comes to viewing what Bachata should sound like. Aventura worked hard at making a dent into this mind set and after years of hard work, they finally succeeded. Aventura also uses other kinds of Latino influences in their music, namely salsa and reggaeton.
Aventura are also a band of firsts- they are the first band to bring Bachata to the popular mainstream of music, they are the first band to fuse the elements of Bachata and Reggaeton with American elements like hip hop and R&B. They are the first band to perform in three forms of languages- English, Spanish and Spanglish. They are also the first band to use Bachata to address serious issues that face the youth growing up in the cities- especially Latino youngsters.
Aventura consists of Anthony Santos, Leny Santos, Max Santos and Henry Santos Jeter. Anthony is known for his soulful singing voice and his songwriting techniques, which talk about the hardships of growing up in the city in a poignant, poetic way. Leny is the one who actually created Aventura's unique sound, blending Bachata with hip hop elements. Max is a rap artist and is responsible for bringing the elements of rock into the Aventura sound. Henry is singer and composer for the group, best known for his comedy antics that he often uses during live performances.
