About Andre Rieu

Andre Rieu speaks many languages including Limburgish, Dutch, German, English, French, Italian and Spanish. Andre travels the world touring for large parts of the year. When he tours the United States he plays very large venues such as Allstate Arena and Bank Atlantic Center. In 2008 Andre will be playing shows in the US for all of April and May and then he plays a few shows in Nederland followed by France and the Australia.

Mr Rieu is very Fond of his Orchestra and even says on his website “we are practically Married” “I can’t Do without them” The orchestra began with twelve members and most shows there are 43 members.

Andre has so many awards here are a few 1995 Edison Publieksprijs, 1996 World Music Award, 1996 Nederlandse Exportprijs, 1997 Goldene Europa, 1997 Nederlandse Exportprijs, 1998 World Music Award, 1998 Nederlandse Export Award, 2001 Goldene Henne, 2001 Eremedaille van de Stad Maastricht, 2002 Ridder in de Orde van de Nederlandse Leeuw Plus more Platinum records than almost any other performer.
