Background:
A.F.I is one of the hardcore punk revivalists which are considered as one of the most popular bands of their times. The band was formed in the year of 1991 at the time all of it's members were attending the high school in Ukiah, CA. However, Geoff Kresge took the place of Vick after several months. During this time the band performed at local gigs and released a split 7” with other fellow members of Loose Change. The band also released an EP during that year which was titled as “Behind the Times.”

About AFI
It was after this that the band broke their bonding because of the very fact that they joined different colleges, with Kresge moving to New Jersey on a temporary basis and joined Blank77. But during their summer vacations the band decided to organize a re-union show for their audience.
The show was said to be so much success that the group decided to take a break from their studies and focus on the full-time music. In the year of 1997, the band released their second album titled “Very Proud Of Ya” which was released under the label of Nitro Records. Not only this, the band also released two LP's in the same year titled “Answer That & Stay Fashionable, and “Shut Your Mouth & Open Your Eyes.”
Despite of success coming in, the group never had a stable line-up. Kresge left the group and was replaced by Hunter, followed by Stopholese departure whose place was occupied by the ex-Redemption 87 guitarist Jade Puget.
This new line-up released a self-tiled EP “A Fire Inside” in the year of 1998. “Black Sails” was released in the year of 1999, followed by “Art By Drownhing” which was released in the consecutive year. “Sing The Sorrow” was yet another album which was released in March 2003 under the most popular and prestigious label named as Dream Works.
