Abba Mania a highly refined and professional production was produced in 1999, and it was performed for the first time a year later. When Abba Mania first staged its show, (it was after 28 years since Abba last toured), the frenzy for their tickets were phenomenal. The demand for tickets outstripped the supply. The performance of Abba Mania takes you back in time by reviving one of the world's best pop groups in a live stage performance. Abba mania still grips the nation with myriad tributes on television, radio, and also with the staggeringly popular stage hit Mama Mia. The popularity of the show prompted London 's West End to invite the production to perform there. Abba Mania performed at the Strand Theater for 18 weeks. After conquering London, the same year the production went to Germany and performed at the Deutsches Theater Munich. It was a sold out show. The show was awarded with the esteemed Radio Regenbogen award for the best musical of 2002, in 2003. The same year Abba mania traveled extensively all over Europe. Wherever they performed the show was a huge success. They had a sell out 24 successive shows in the Schiller Theater in Berlin, and Cologne Arena. In 2004 they performed for a special show in television which was watched by over 11 million people, and broadcast all over Europe. Original members of the ABBA band, stars from the musical Mama Mia, and even the very popular Bjorn Ulveus were all a part of the show. The production had not lost on its popularity and their 2005 and 2006 tours were a huge hit. Abba Mania started 2007 with a new production, new costumes, new stage set, and all the popular ABBA hits. Till date the show has toured Venezuela, North America, Tahiti, Mexico, Germany, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Luxembourg, and many more.
