3 Doors Down traveled around Escatawpa, Mississippi trying to establish themselves and finally broke out with the single “Kryptonite” in 2000. The song stayed at number one on the Modern Rock Tracks charts for 11 consecutive weeks after it was released by Universal Records. The single landed them the full album, The Better Life (2000). The debut album went on to become certified platinum and became an international hit with “Kryptonite”, “Loser”, and “Duck and Run”.

The group followed the sensational debut album with Away from the Sun in 2002. The studio album hit the air waves with the singles “Here Without You” and “When I’m Gone”. Fans responded well to the album and 3 Doors Down avoided a sophomore slump with another multi-platinum selling album. The group used their popularity to raise money for charities with a “3 Doors Down and Friends” benefit concert in 2003.

Their first number one album was scored in 2005 with the debut of their third studio album, Seventeen Days. The album saw 3 Doors Down release their third straight platinum album. The group once again reached out to those in need, playing a benefit concert through there charity, The Better Life Foundation, on December 2, 2006 for victims of Hurricane Katrina, which hit near their home town in Mississippi.

3 Doors Down has worked hard to promote their work since the beginning of their career and have not stopped since becoming a major rock act. The group once played nearly 300 concerts in a year and regularly plays with other artists, like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Staind, Alter Bridge, Breaking Benjamin, Seether, and Shinedown.
