After paying their dues and opening shows for years, Yamato The Drummers of Japan was signed to a record deal. The bandspent years before being signed as an opening act. Yamato The Drummers of Japan were sure that they would make it after signing the record deal. They had heard stories of others still failing, but were sure they would be one of those bands. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller clubs in which they started.
Yamato The Drummers of Japan finally knew they made it after the group’s first fan club was started in 1979 by Elizabeth Okerblom. The fan club may have just started out with a few members that followed the band when the played in small clubs, but it quickly grew to thousands after the group released its first album and started touring nationally.
After this past non-stop year the members of Yamato The Drummers of Japan will take some time off. The band may have just finished their latest record, but they are planning the next release already. The newest project from Yamato The Drummers of Japan has been heavily influenced by singers of the 1960s.
