Wax Tailor started playing at the local bar Tenant. The band used to practice at the drummer's house. Wax Tailor’s members met in 1997. The bassist wanted to start a band since he was in grade school.

Wax Tailorwere tentative after releasing their debut release, but were more than relieved when they started hearing their music on the radio. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began. submitted their single to K102.1 and a DJ took a liking to it. The members of the band all quit their other jobs to focus on their music.
Wax Tailor accepted that they could really have a career in music in 1975, after Anna DiSalvatore started the group’s first fan club. Initially the group only had a few fans from Boston in the club, but after playing country wide the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Wax Tailor's most current release has taken the group in a quite different direction, using more instruments than ever before. The group just finished their newest record, and they are already plotting the next move. Wax Tailor's members hope to team up with other artists while they are on this tour.
Generally, critics commend Wax Tailor for their playfulness with the audience at live performances. Harry Lamango, a music critic from Las Vegas, has always mentioned group’s terrific guitarist. Wax Tailor’s latest project is receiving great reviews from Diedrich Isenhower, a music critic out of Las Vegas, and Jeff Rohrs, from Cincinnati.
