Watain always wanted to hear themselves at the top of the charts and they got their wish with the release of their first single. The bandyears opening for bands at small festivals.

Watain realized that they could really have a career in music when the group’s first fan club was started in 1983 by Jenny Innocent. Initially the group only had a few fans from Omaha in the club, but after playing from coast to coast the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.

After this last busy year the members of Watain will spend some time apart. The band is in the beginning of the promotional tour for their most current project. The latest album is 's first release since the band broke up ten years ago.

Generally, critics have commended Watain for their ability to rile up the crowd at live performances. A music critic from San Francisco, Craig Fraiser, has always praised group’s accessible lyrics. Watain’s most current release is the band’s best received release yet.
