Uhf’s members grew up together. The group used to practice at the guitarist's basement. Uhf started playing at Anyplace, a local bar. The bassist used to listen to radio constantly as a kid.

Uhf’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some exposure. The bandwas headlining shows soon after they started playing live.
Uhf accepted that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act as soon as the band’s first fan club was started in 1983 by Michelle Richardson. After starting out with a handful of members in Champaign, the club took off exponentially, growing to over two thousand in just a few months.
Uhf hope to collaborate with other artists while they are on this tour. The band has just completed their latest project, but they are thinking of what is to come next. The new release from Uhf has taken the band in a very new direction, with a bigger sound.
