The members of The Brew met in 1982. The guitarist used to fall asleep with a CDplaying as a child. The drummer used to listen to radio constantly as a child. The Brew began singing at Eyewitness, a college club. Dolly Parton heavily influenced the early work of the band.

The group has just completed their newest project, and they are already plotting the next move. The Brew's most current record took almost a year to create.
The Brew’s first album failed to sell, but the second album saved them from obscurity. The Brew talked to a local DJ from Z89.1 and got their single on air. The girlfriend of a record executive heard the song and soon after The Brew was signed.
The Brew knew that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act in 1982, when the group's first fan club was started by Michelle Harkenreader. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Louisville, but the creation the band’s website by Deborah Jasper, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.
The Brew appreciaites their fans and wants to give them a good show, so they play previous hits along with the most current singles. Miami has always been receptive to the band, even when they were small time, so the group schedules a show there every year, even if they are not touring.
