Both Bacon and Kevin have performed regularly in their ensemble, The Bacon Brothers since late 1990s to the 2000s. There bonding regressed with three albums to their credit by 2001. Both of them toured as Bacon Brothers, and performed in eight concerts including New York City, down the East Coast and into the Midwest to Peru, Illinois and Missouri. Michael composed the soundtrack for the PBS mini series, The Jewish Americans in 2008. Bacon married to Betsy Maguire in 1972. They have one child.
Kevin has performed in many memorable roles including in Footloose, Animal House, Stir of Echoes, Wild Things, JFK, Apollo 13, Mystic River and The Woodsman amongst others. He had dreamt to become an actor by the age of 13, and pursued a theater career in New York. He was one of the youngest students ever admitted to the Circle in the Square Theater School.
His decision to become an actor was, though, his natural instinct, but it did not come without pressures. He had always set towering goals for himself because he imagined for nothing less than the stardom that would be enough. His film debut in the fraternity comedy Animal House in 1978 did not have any instant fame. He had, though hoped for a glaring success. He tried his luck to the waiting tables and auditioned for smaller roles in theaters. He refused a subsequent offer of a television series based on Animal House for the sake of making a mark on the New York stage.
The children's CDs of Sandra Boynton, Dog Train and Philadelphia Chickens have an appearance of Bacon Brothers who sing the title track. Their song, Chop Wood is on a soundtrack of the 2004 film, The Woodsman. Kevin produced and acted in it. Their song, When You Decide You've Stayed Too Long is on the soundtrack of the film, Red Betsy.
The Bacon Brothers appeared on an episode of Queer Eye in January 2006. This episode featured Michael Bacon as a straight guy and makeover recipient but ended with both Bacon Brothers performing. Michael composed the soundtrack for the PBS mini series, The Jewish Americans in early 2008.
