The members of Suicide Silence met in 1993. The lead singer wanted to start a group since he was in grade school. Suicide Silence began singing at Cafeteria, a college dive bar. The group asked the local radio station to play their early songs.

Suicide Silence met with a local DJ from Q93.9 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the group. The band members were happy that all the local festivals they had played had paid off. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they began.
Suicide Silence knew they made it as soon as the group’s first fan club was started by Carol Pillar in 1990. Starting out in Miami with a few dozen members, the club grew fast, eclipsing a couple thousand nation wide in under a year.
The band has just finished their newest project, but they are planning the next release already. Suicide Silence's newest project has been heavily influenced by bands of the 1950s.
The group is sure to schedule a show at Guy in Kansas City every time they tour because they used to play there all the time before they made it big. Suicide Silence's performances always have the audience singing by the end of the show.
