Status Quo started singing at Vegetable, a local dive bar. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van at the local record store. Status Quo’s members met in 1988. The guitarist first found his love of music by listening to his mom's collection of records.

Status Quo always wanted to hear themselves at the top of the charts and they got their wish with the release of their first single. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began. Status Quo was discovered after their single was heard on B91.1. The group regularly played at Beach before making it to the big time.
Status Quo realized they had finally made it after Liz Thomalson started a fan club for the group in 1984. The fan club quickly grew from a few dozen in Jacksonville to a few thousand from California to New York.
