Simple Plan

This punk-pop quintet from Montreal has ridden its Cheap-Trick-on-steroids sound to prime slots on the Vans Warped Tour as well as the heavily celebrated Snow Jam in Toronto. Members of Good Charlotte and blink-182 helped record the band's debut album. Simple Plan left behind their quirky, Ritalin-deprived teenage sound for their sophomore effort, Still Not Getting Any... in lieu of a more formulaic approach to commercial alternative music, unsurprisingly similar to that of Good Charlotte's proven commercial success and chart-crossing marketability. >> More alt

About Simple Plan

These five amazingly good looking guys come out of good old Montreal Canada!! Jeff, Chuck, Seb, and Pierre all went to the same High school. They eventually formed a band, but they needed a new bassist. At the time, Pierre was doing vocals and playing bass, but wanted to just sing. So they recruited Dave from a band called Reset (Ironically Chuck and Pierre's old band). Together they formed Simple Plan. Simple Plan is a pop/punk band and their inspirational music always gets you hyped and ready to party. They have accomplished so much in such little time, that the only way to go from here is up.

The punk pop craze continued to sweep across US shopping malls and MTV during the early twenty-first century, owing to the emergence of acts such as Montreal, Quebec, Canada-based Simple Plan. Following in the footsteps of fellow Canadians Sum 41, Simple Plan's roots lay in an earlier group, Reset, which included vocalist Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau, back in the mid-90s (when both were only 13 years old). Despite touring with MxPx, Ten Foot Pole, and Face To Face (as well as issuing a 1997 debut, No Worries), both Bouvier and Comeau left the band so they could finish their education. It was not long before their desire to play music returned, resulting in the formation of Simple Plan soon afterwards. Rounding out the line-up were guitarists Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre, as well as former Reset bass player, David Desrosiers. After building a following by playing alongside headline acts on the 2001 edition of the Vans Warped Tour, the quintet signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records. In 2002 their debut, No Helmets, No Pads " Just Balls, was released, which featured guest appearances by Blink-182"s Mark Hoppus and Good Charlotte's Joel Madden.
