Railroad Earth is the jam band with a little bit of everything. From bluegrass to rock, the group out of Stillwater, New Jersey has been adding fans to its following, called the Hobos, since they started playing in 2001. Railroad Earth tickets have sold quickly throughout their short existence despite the mainstream’s troubles labeling them.

The group began playing together in early 2001 when Todd Sheaffer gathered Tim Carbone, John Skehan, Andy Goessling, Carey Harmon, and Dave Von Dollen to play some songs he had written. A couple of months later the six became known as Railroad Earth, named after a song they played based on a Jack Kerouac poem, and their first recording, The Black Bear Sessions, had earned them a manager and a spot on stage at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.
A representative from Sugar Hill Records was so impressed with their set that the group was signed to a deal. Railroad Earth followed with two studio albums, Bird In A House and The Goodlife. Before The Good Life the group changed bassists from Dave Von Dollen to Johnny Grubb. The change did little to change the band and the Hobos continued to buy tickets to see Railroad Earth.
A record label change followed, from Sugar Hill Records to SCI Fidelity Records and the group released Elko. Railroad Earth has continued to tour with plenty of dates scheduled every year, with Hobo fans with tickets in hand for every show. The Ticket Specialists are the best option for old Hobos and new ones to find cheap tickets to see jam-band Railroad Earth play every year, with a huge selection of seats and more than affordable prices.
Railroad Earth has returned in 2008 with a new record, Amen Corner, which was recorded in a 300-year-old farmhouse in their home state of New Jersey. The band will be busy traveling the country from June 4 to September 27. Tickets can be purchased from Ticket Specialists all summer long as Railroad Earth tours with their stripped down music that is a breath of fresh air today.
