Rahj began performing at the college dive bar Cafeteria. The band used to sell their tapes out of their van on the street. Rahj began playing together while they were in grade school. The bassist was influenced by his mom's love of music.

Rahj were still not sure if they would make it after getting a record. They had heard too many stories and knew that they were in no position to expect anything. The band plays almost every night of the week as the they tour South America. Rahj was discovered after their single was heard on a local music hour on Z92.9. The group played for little to no money at first and was just happy to be given a chance to be heard.
Rahj accepted that they were real working musicians in 1984, as soon as the band's first fan club was started by Betty Yeubanks. The fan club grew quickly from a few dozen members in a few cities to a few thousand nation wide.
The new album from Rahj has taken the group in a different direction, with a more refined sound. The band may have just finished their most current record, but they are already thinking of their next move. After this last busy year the members of Rahj will take some time off to recharge after a long year.
Often times, critics have commended Rahj for their ability to energize the audience during concerts. Trent Neilson, a music critic from Ann Arbor, has always been enamored with group’s immensely talented guitarist. Rahj’s new album is receiving amazing reviews from all the critics, including Simon Reiner, who first saw the group play in Oklahoma City.
