Overdose started performing at Ferry, a local bar. The lead singer used to annoy his dad by playing his favorite CD too loud. The bassist was heavily influenced by his sibling's love for music. Overdose’s members grew up together. The group was influenced by the Beach Boys.

Overdose accepted that they were truly working musicians as soon as the group’s first fan club was started in 1990 by Betty Pillar. After playing country wide, the band’s fan club exploded from the handful of fans around Detroit to thousands in every city throughout the country.
Overdose will take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to recharge. The band recently finished their newest album, and they are already planning their next move. The most current project from Overdose has taken the band in a incredibly different direction, with a more complex musical structure.
