A member of Oomph! started dating a girl whose brotherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The group group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. Oomph!’s first album was a dud, but the second finally got some attention.
Oomph! realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after Kim Moran started a fan club for the band in 1995. The club started out in Chicago with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
