In the summer of 1997, a new punk-pop band A New Found Glory was started. The band was made up of vocalist Jordan Pundik, guitarists Chad Gilbert and Steve Klein, bassist Ian Grushka, and drummer Joe Moreno. The band issued their EP and after that Moreno left the band, a drummer of repute Cyrus Bolooki replaced him. Famous for their energetic live shows, the group traveled up and down the East Coast, rapidly selling out the total pressing of their 1997 debut EP It's All About the Girls, released through Fiddler.

In 2003 the same album was re released by Fiddler but with new cover art. In 1999 they released their album Nothing Gold Can Stay. The bands potential was realized and major label MCA signed them up. They re-issued their Nothing Gold Can Stay. In 2000 they issued their EP From the Screen to Your Stereo, which was followed by the full-length New Found Glory later that year. The album had the re-recorded version of the very popular "Hit or Miss." From this album onwards the band stopped using the indefinite article A in their name. The band embarked on a tour with blink-182 and also participated on the Warped Tour. This helped the band to get maximum exposure, and an opportunity to increase their fan base. After the tour the band started working on their next album, and in 2002 they released their album Sticks and Stones. The single "My Friends Over You" from the album became a big hit. The song became instrumental in securing the headlining spot for the 2002 Warped Tour jaunt for the band. The band's act during the tour was widely appreciated, and after that they set on to work on their next album with renewed vigor. New Found Glory released their album Catalyst in 2004. The same year, the live DVD =This Disaster: Live in London was released. Catalyst went to No.3 in Billboard's Top 200, pushed in part by the success of "All Downhill from Here. NFG issued their fifth full-length album, Coming Home, which was produced by Thom Panunzio in September 2006. This album too was well received by the general public as well as critics. After the release NFG set off on a tour in support of the album throughout the U.S. and U.K.
