A member of My Bloody Valentine started dating a girl whose momwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller bars in which they started.

My Bloody Valentine accepted that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after the group’s first fan club was started by Angela Molitor in 1998. The fan club started out small with just a handful of members, generally localized to the area around Oklahoma City, but the creation the group’s website by Elizabeth Moran, along with the first real national marketing campaign, saw the membership to grow into the thousands.
