Motion City Soundtrack is consisted of Tony Thaxton (drums), Joshua Cain (guitar), Justin Pierre (vocals/guitar), Matthew Taylor (bass) and Jesse Johnson (moog). This superb Indie rock quintet was originally formed in 1999 when Cain and Pierre were studying in the high school.

Well, both were die-hard fans of Jawbox, Sunny Day Real Estate, the Flaming Lips, and Superchunk, so they came up this idea to form a band. Soon the band was formed and Motion City Soundtrack issued 7'' in the late 1999. Though it wasn't until Johnson, Taylor and Thaxton joined the band and things started happening. As Taylor and Thaxton relocated from Richmond, VA, to their hometown of Minneapolis, MN,
Then, they immediately started recording, with well known engineer/producer Ed Rose and gave some smash hits like Coalesce, Ultimate Fakebook and The Get Up Kids. In 2003, the band released their punk-glazed superb debut "I Am the Movie." This was followed by their next releases "Up In Central Park/Arms" in 2004 and "Commit This To Memory" in 2005.
