Maylene & the Sons of Disaster was discovered while joking around, performing on the street one day. The band's members had horrible jobs when they started playing, just biding time until they would hit the big time. Maylene & the Sons of Disaster’s first album did not do so well, but the second album was a hit, going platinum. The group is on tour constantly, performing before legions of fans nightly.
Maylene & the Sons of Disaster finally knew they made it as soon as the band’s first fan club was started in 1981 by Margie Ullmann. The fan club grew from a few dozen to a few thousand after Michelle Slatter created a website for the group and a national tour gave the band plenty of exposure.
Maylene & the Sons of Disaster's newest record is the band's eighth project. The band recently finished their latest record, and they are already plotting the next move. After this past busy year the members of Maylene & the Sons of Disaster will take some time off.
