Matthew-Aaron Dusk was born on November 19, 1978 in Toronto, Canada. He is well known as a Canadian jazz musician and vocalist. He became much popular after his major label debut album "Two Shots" was certified gold in Canada. Since childhood Matt Dusk wanted to become a performer. And fortunately at the age of seven, he was selected as a member of the St. Michael's Choir School. Here he was engaged in singing for about eleven years. Originally Dusk was interested in opera and classical music but after listening to a couple of Tony Bennett and Sarah Vaughan records at the age of 17 he started changing his musical style and focus.

About Matt Dusk
In 1998 he ranked first in the Canadian National Exhibition Rising Star Competition, among 654 contestants. In 1998 Dusk went to Toronto's York University to study economics. After passing a year in the economics department, Dusk discovered that his passion for music was unforgettable and in 1999 switched to study for a BFA in music, where his stress was squarely on jazz and popular music. He learnt jazz theory with John Gittins, jazz vocal with Bob Fenton, and went to a master class with Oscar Peterson. Dusk was also honored with the university's Oscar Peterson Scholarship and in 2002 completed graduation with an honors degree in music.
Initially Dusk recorded four independent CDs and many of his songs became a success on MP3 websites. In March 2003 he secured a major record deal, and signed with Decca Records. In 2004 he was invited to the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas to entertainer as the in-house performer during the filming of the hit reality TV show on FOX, "The Casino".
His debut album "Two Shots" was(not needed) came out on June 5, 2004. The album was an unexpected success and produced the hit single, "Two Shots of Happy, One Shot of Sad". Bono and The Edge wrote this single from the Irish rock band U2. The holiday album entitled "Peace On Earth" on November 30, 2005 followed this hit.
In January 2006 Dusk moved to Los Angeles to record his next album. Back In Town, was recorded at Capitol Records legendary Studio A. Back in Town, is regarded by some of his fans as his breakthrough album. This album was recorded with a 58 piece orchestra. The artists included several notable arrangers including Patrick Williams and Sammy Nestico, invited in to provide original arrangements for classic numbers like "More" and "As Time Goes By." The legendary Al Schmitt, winner of this year's Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards ALSO accompanied. And he recorded and mixed all of the album's big band tracks. Back In Town presents a blend of jazz standards and originals, and was released in June of 2006. As a promotion, Matt included personally signed liner notes with every pre-ordered copy of this album.
