The members of Machine Go Boom were friends in high school. The guitarist used to listen to radio constantly as a teenager. The lead singer was heavily influenced by his father's love for music. Machine Go Boom’s first release rose quickly in the charts, giving them the national recognition they always wanted. The band members were relieved to have the opportunity to make an album and quit their day jobs that supported them while they worked hard at night to make their dreams happen.
Machine Go Boom finally knew they made it in 1993, as soon as the band's first fan club was started by Angela Jean. Initially the group only had a few fans from Concord in the club, but after playing from coast to coast the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
The band has always had a good time in Austin so they make sure to play there every year, even if they are not promoting anything.
