Lyfe Jennings has come a long way since he was 14. Then he was just about to enter prison for arson. Now he is selling albums and selling out tickets while he tours. The soul and R&B star took the early entry into prison as assign to change and returned to his earlier love, music. Lyfe had been raised in a musical family, singing in the church as Chester Jennings with his two cousins. He also learned to play guitar, bass, and piano.

His career began performing at the “Showtime In Harlem” talent competition in 2003 and won five consecutive times. The competition, decided by a national audience, spurned him closer to his dream. He sold his own EP and was soon turning away calls from agents.
Lyfe Jennings began performing on tickets as the opening acts for major artists like Nelly. In 2004, he released his debut album, Lyfe 268-192. The album was certified platinum and instantly made him a big name. BY 2006 he had released his second album, The Phoenix, which went to number two on the U.S. Charts.
The singer has toured the country and played concerts before thousands. His newest release, Lyfe Change came out in April and peaked at number four on the charts. Jennings has turned his life around since he was a child and now sells tickets instead of doing time.
With the release of Lyfe Change, Lyfe Jennings will tour the United States with the “Baby I’m A Star” tour. The tour has concerts scheduled throughout the nation and begins in Atlanta on July 1. The 22-city schedule will allow thousands of R&B fans to buy tickets to see Lyfe Change perform.
