Langus’s members were friends in grade school. The bassist use to listen to tape constantly as a teenager. The bassist was influenced by his mom's love of music. Langus began singing at the local bar City. The group used to sell their tapes out of their van at the local music store.

Langus were unsure about their music careers with the release of their debut single, and were relieved after their music began climbing the charts ad getting lots of play on the radio. The group is enjoying its success, touring constantly.
Langus accepted that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after the group’s first fan club was started by Melissa Felson in 1983. The club started out in Albany with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
