La Quinta Estacion began performing at the college bar Celebrity. The drummer wanted to start a band since he was in middle school. The guitarist wanted to start a group since he was in high school. La Quinta Estacion’s members met in middle school. The band used to sell their CDs out of their van on campus.

La Quinta Estacion was discovered while playing at at Beach, a local dive bar. The bandstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together. La Quinta Estacion’s first album failed to sell, but the second album saved them from obscurity. The band is now a huge draw wherever they perform.
La Quinta Estacion finally realized they made it in 1978, when Ruth Lordi started the band’s first fan club. The club started out in Philadelphia with a handful of members, but grew tremendously once their singles started getting national air time.
