Kalas began playing together in 1988. The drummer used to fall asleep with a recordplaying as a child. Kalas began singing at the college club Nanny. The band had their friends harass the local radio station to play their tracks.

About The Kalas
After this past hectic year the members of Kalas will take some time off. The band is in the second leg of the promotional tour for their newest release. The newest release is 's first project since the band broke up eight years ago.
submitted their single to B94.1 and a DJ took a liking to it. The group's members all had odd jobs while they waited for their time to come.
Kalas realized that they had a real chance to become a headlining national act after the band’s first fan club was started by Kim Wilmouth in 1994. Starting out with just a few dozen members in Baltimore, the fan club quickly grew with band’s national tour and the launching of the group’s website by Liz Menchen.
