About John Tesh

John Tesh was born on 9 July 1952 in Garden City. From the early stage of his career, his penchant for music was noticeable. He started learning trumpet and piano from his early years. He enrolled his name in the New York State Symphonic Orchestra for mastering various facets of music. After attaining a degree from the North Carolina State University, he started anchoring in the WTVD. This anchoring career helped him to get acquainted with the various facets of this industry and also helped him to come in close contact with some famous personalities.

His contribution to the television industry is undeniable. In the 1970s, he started reporting and anchoring for the popular WSM-TV. When he was just twenty-three years old, he became the reporter of WCBS. But the decisive moment of career came when he began hosting the popular TV show “Entertainment Tonight”. Tesh hosted this show continuously for ten years. He also pursued his career as a sportscaster for some major sports events. He did the reporting for the famous bicycle race ‘Tour de France’ and the events of the Summer Olympics between 1992 and 1996. In this period, he had composed a theme song of NBA for “Roundball Rock”. This theme song became very popular among the common people.

Tesh started his musical career in full swing after leaving his job as a host in the “Entertainment Tonight”. “Music in the Key of Love”, “A Family Christmas”, “Winter Song” and “A Romantic Christmas” are some of the famous albums by Tesh. His incessant endeavor to emulate other singers of the same genre and his hard work helped him to become one of the leading figures of the particular musical genre- New Age. He also pursued his career as a keyboardist. In the year 2007, he released a collection of his songs in a single CD under the title of “A Passionate Life”. Several copies of this CD were sold quickly and this inspired him to continue his journey in this industry.

His brilliant contributions in various spheres helped him to become a well known face in this industry. His fame rests on his popular radio show “John Tesh Radio Show” which attracted the attention of thousand of audiences. He got nomination for the “Syndicated Personality/Show of the Year award” in 2007 for his brilliant presentation skills in this radio program. Apart from that, Tesh was also nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award in the category of “Best Pop Instrumental Album” for his awesome performance in his album “Power of Love”.
