Joe Nichols’s members grew up together. The bassist first found his love of music by listening to his grandfather's collection of records. The lead singer was influenced by his dad's love of music. Joe Nichols started performing at the local dive bar Timmy's Last Stand. The band was influenced by Aretha Franklin.

Joe Nichols met with a local DJ from X102.5 and convinced him to play their single on air. The single immediately became a local hit and larger radio stations started playing the song. Eventually a record executive heard it and signed the band. The band group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. The group plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller venues in which they started.
The new record from Joe Nichols took eleven months to record. The group has just completed their new project, and they are plotting their next move already.
