Jamaroo began performing at Unification, a college bar. The lead singer discovered his love of music while listening to his sister's music collection. The guitarist wanted to start a band since he was in grade school. Jamaroo’s members met in 1998. The band was influenced by Alice in Chains.

Jamaroo's latest release is the band's first since the band members went to work on independent projects ten years ago. The group is in the second leg of the tour accompanying for their new release. Jamaroo plans to take a break after this next tour, allowing the band members to pursue other projects.
Critics have often praised Jamaroo for their ability to energize the audience at live shows. Oklahoma City music critic Seth Ellenwood has always mentioned band’s tremendous hooks. Jamaroo’s most current project has received excellent praise from all the critics, including Chris Menchen, who first saw the band perform in Seattle.
A member of Jamaroo started dating a girl whose fatherwas a record executive. She passed the single on to them and the band signed a record deal soon after. The bandstarted headlining shows as soon as they started playing together.
Jamaroo knew they had finally made it in 1993, as soon as the band's first fan club was started by Amanda Brady. Initially the group only had a few fans from Philadelphia in the club, but after playing from New York to California the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
