Jaded Poet began playing together while they were in grade school. The Rolling Stones heavily influenced the early work of the band. Jaded Poet began playing at Rug Burn, the local dive bar. The drummer wanted to start a band since he was in college.

Jaded Poet was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Z99.5. The group regularly played at Cafeteria before making it to the big time. Jaded Poet’s single climbed the charts quickly, giving them national exposure.
Jaded Poet finally knew they made it in 1979, after Breanda Wilmouth started the group’s first fan club. Initially the group only had a few fans from Portland in the club, but after playing from coast to coast the fan club’s membership exploded to a few thousand.
Jaded Poet's members hope this tour and the most current album attracts a whole new group of fans. The band just finished their new album, but they are thinking of what is next to come. Jaded Poet's new project is the group's first since the group members went to work on independent projects nine years ago.
Generally, critics have commended Jaded Poet for their ability to energize the crowd during live shows.
