Hurt began playing together while they were in grade school. The bassist was influenced by his grandmother's love of music. Hurt started singing at the local dive bar Demonstrator. The group used to sell their records out of their van at the local music store.

About Hurt
After this last hectic year the members of Hurt will spend some time apart to work on side projects. The group may have recently finished their newest album, but they are already thinking of their next move. Hurt's most current project is the group's sixth release.
Generally, critics will praise Hurt for their ability to connect with the audience during live shows. Jerry Ernst, a music critic from Miami, has always been a fan of group’s tremendous sound. Hurt’s most current release has received positive praise from all the critics, including William Noonan from Biloxi and Bob Ellenwood from San Diego.
Hurt were uneasy after releasing the first album, but were happy when they heard their music on the radio for the first time. The groupplays plenty of arenas, but would rather play in the smaller venues in which they began.
Hurt knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true when the band’s first fan club was started by Amy Ernhart in 2000. The group embraced the small fan club and with the launching of the group’s own website by Sharon Jean and a well marketed national tour the club quickly grew to a few thousand.
Hurt seamlessly blends the songs from the previous album with tracks from their newest album. Baltimore has always been a haven for the group, so they are sure to schedule a concert there every time they tour.
