Henry Rollins was born Henry Lawrence Garfield on February 13th, 1961 in Washington, D.C. Henry's parents divorced when he was young, so he was mostly raised by his mother, Iris. Henry started singing when he became the vocalist of SOA (State of Alert), a band based in Washington D.C. It was between 1981 to 1986 when he was a frontman cum vocalist for the hardcore punk band Black Flag. In 1987, he formed his own band, the Henry Rollins band with Chris Haskett (guitar); Melvin Gibbs (bass guitar); Sim Cain (drums) and Theo Van Rock (Sound Engineer).
