Background:
Hatebreed is a hugely popular heavy metal band hailing from Bridgeport and New Haven, Connecticut. The band was conceptualized in 1995, and hastily became one of the top bands in the particular genre due to their very intense musical style and their constant support and effort for the hardcore scene. They quickly released in 1996 a split with New York's Neglect, a greatly acclaimed EP by the name Under The Knife, and the subsequent year released “Satisfaction Is The Death Of Desire” which many fans consider the ultimate hardcore album of the 1990's, the album was released on Victory Records which was at that time the abode of some of the biggest bands in hardcore music.

A regular touring schedule pressed them beyond the boundaries of the hardcore scene. Although tours with many national metal bands such as Slipknot and Slayer, brought them to the mind of many non-hardcore fans. These influences appeared clearly on the band's subsequently two releases, year 2002's Perseverance, and especially on year 2003's The Rise of Brutality.
They've written some of the most grueling riffs in history. They have shared stages with nearly everyone in the field from Ozzy to Murphy's Law and sold much over 200,000 records, all this with virtually no promotion. This entire prior to landing a major label deal. But to call them a band is a mistake. Make no mistake about it. Hatebreed isn't just a regular band; it’s a movement in itself.
The band still maintains taut links to the hardcore community. This is clearly evident by the lineup for hatebreed’s 10 year anniversary show which was held at toads place on 25 and 26 November, 2005 in New Haven. The line up of bands included some names like Neglect, Irate, One 4 One, and reunions by Skarhead and All Out War.
The present members of the band are, Jamey Jasta on vox, Chris Beattie on bass, Sean Martin on guitar, and Matt Byrne on the drums. Among the Former members and other members on the band are Jamie "Pushbutton" on drums, Dave Russo again on drums, Lou "Boulder" Richards on guitar, Larry Dwyer also on guitar, Matt McIntosh on guitar, Wayne also on guitar, and Richard E. May on harp and saxophone.
The band will be releasing their next record through Roadrunner Records in August 2006. The name of the album has been fixed as “Supremacy” in which Jasta describes in his own words as "all-out onslaught of completely adrenaline-charged, in-your-face brutality."
Do not miss the band’s performance for anything. It is bound to be awesome and fully charged with energy. Book your tickets before it is too late. Online booking available now.
