The members of Hanukkah Swings grew up together. The lead singer used to listen to radio constantly as a child. Hanukkah Swings started playing at Adult, a college club. The band begged the local radio station to play their songs.

Hanukkah Swings was offered a record contract after their single was heard on Z99.1. The group group played festivals, parties, bars, really just about anywhere that would take them. The band plays plenty of arenas, but would rather perform in the smaller bars in which they began.
Hanukkah Swings knew that their dream of making an actual life for themselves as musicians had come true in 1991, after Maria Francoeur started the group’s first fan club.
